How We Work
Organised around the matter, not the meeting.
A matter is more than a series of emails and calls. Treating it as a single, continuous thing — with its own facts, evidence, and history — is the basis for how Rexton works, for a single engagement or one that runs for years.
- 01
Understand the matter
Before anything else, we build an accurate picture of what is actually at stake — the facts, the stakeholders, the constraints, and what a good outcome would look like. Most avoidable mistakes happen here, not later.
- 02
Organise the evidence
Complex matters generate documents, correspondence, and detail faster than any one person can hold in their head. We organise it deliberately, so the matter stays legible as it grows rather than turning into an unmanaged pile.
- 03
Do the work
Analysis, drafting, negotiation, coordination across advisers and jurisdictions — the substantive work of the matter, carried out with the same rigor whether it takes a week or a year.
- 04
Verify before it matters
Work gets checked before it is relied upon, not after. Technical completion and genuine verification are treated as two different things, deliberately kept distinct.
- 05
Bring the decision to you
Some steps are procedural. Others require professional judgment — a client’s judgment, or ours. We are explicit about which is which, and we bring the second kind back to the person responsible for it rather than proceeding on assumption.
- 06
Continue, without starting over
Long-running matters shouldn’t lose context between conversations. We maintain continuity of the matter itself, so returning to it after a gap doesn’t mean re-explaining it from the beginning.
Where Technology Fits
Assisted, not automated away.
This is also the process the Rexton technology platform is being built around. The aim is not to remove people from matters that need them — it is to make sure the organisational weight of a complex matter doesn’t fall entirely on memory and manual tracking, and that the moments requiring real judgment are surfaced clearly rather than buried in volume.
